Important Heat Stress Facts:

• Since 1994, the fire service has been averaging between 90 and 105 deaths per year.

• During a fire, studies show that firefighters core body temperatures can often reach 104° and higher.

• Over the last 10 years, the fire service has been averaging 95,000 - 105,000 annual injuries. Over one-half have been injuries that occurred during emergency operations.

• During practices, two-a-days, or during a game, it has been proven some players have reached temperatures over 108°.

• The Cool Draft has proven to gradually, and safely, reduce the effects of heat stress in a designated rehab area or on the sidelines.

• From 1960 through 2007, there were 114 heat stroke cases that resulted in death on all levels of football from sandlot to the pros, according to a report compiled by Dr. Frederick Mueller at the University of North Carolina for the American Football Coaches Association in February 2008.

• From 2003-07, he attributed 16 deaths to heat stroke, and both cases in 2007 were in high school.

• Due to the equipment and uniform needed in football, most of the heat problems have been associated with football.

• We test  each Cool Draft unit before it is packaged, to ensure each unit is properly working for the best quality possible.
